The Generations are depicted by the umbilical cord from the fetus attached to the "generations" who came before. Many symbols of fertility are painted onto the egg. The male and female figures are deliberately painted as though on an old, well worn plaster wall. The sculpture is hollow white ceramic, in the shape of an "almost" egg fired to cone 2. The painting depicts the never ending cycle of life. It is done in acrylics and varnished with archival and UV protection. The ocean is on the bottom. The finish is similar to an eggshell in texture and sheen.

Artist's Comments: 

Painting on the round is entirely different than painting flat because it is impossible to see six sides at once.
